Congratulations to Founding Dean, Prof Chia Kee Seng, on being conferred the prestigious Eminent Academician (EA) title!

We are delighted to share that Prof Chia Kee Seng, Founding Dean of the NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, was among 17 inaugural Eminent Academicians honoured at the Induction Comitia 2026 on 12 September 2026.

Established by the Ministry of Health and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, the EA title recognises Singapore’s most distinguished specialist doctors and dentists.

An Occupational Medicine specialist, Prof Chia has made lasting contributions to workplace and population health. He co-conceptualised Total Workplace Safety and Health (TWSH), broadening the focus of occupational health to encompass the overall health and well-being of Singapore’s working population.

As Founding Dean, he also championed the translation of public health research into policy and societal impact, including supporting Singapore’s War on Diabetes through evidence-based research and projections that drove critical policy interventions.

Prof Chia continues to contribute to public health through his work on national and international advisory bodies. We warmly congratulate Prof Chia on this well-deserved recognition and celebrate his enduring contributions to public health in Singapore and beyond.
