Our scholarship programme offers opportunities for deserving students to access quality education by equipping them with the necessary resources to address complex health challenges and drive positive change in communities around the world.

Candidates are assessed based on academic merit, leadership potential, amongst other criteria. By combining the coverage of tuition fees and the provision of a stipend, we strive to create an environment whereby talented individuals can flourish, focusing on their academic and professional growth.

TL Whang Foundation Master of Public Health Scholarship

The prestigious TL Whang Foundation Master of Public Health Scholarship provides for tuition fees and a monthly stipend to the most deserving candidates from Thailand and Vietnam, in particular candidates who demonstrate potential for community impact.

The scholarship is named after the TL Whang Foundation which was established with donations by Mr Whang Tar Liang and his family.  Mr TL Whang is the younger of two brothers who built up the Lam Soon Group, a major consumer goods company in Southeast Asia with operations in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

The Foundation supports causes around health, education, the arts and environmental sustainability in Singapore and the region.

Saw Swee Hock Master of Public Health Scholarship

Named in honour of the late Professor Saw Swee Hock, a leading expert in statistics and renowned philanthropist, the scholarship embodies his vision of empowering outstanding individuals to contribute to improving public health outcomes.

This scholarship aims to identify and nurture the next generation of public health leaders who possess exemplary academic records, a strong commitment to improving global health outcomes, and a demonstrated passion for addressing the complex challenges faced by communities worldwide.

Up to three scholarships will be awarded by the School.

Benefits:
– $15,000 towards tuition fees

Requirements:
– For full-time candidates
– Display outstanding academic excellence

SSHSPH Master of Public Health Fellowship

The School offers, on a merit and need basis, Fellowships to recognise outstanding MPH candidates who have clearly demonstrated academic excellence, professional distinction, exceptional leadership qualities, passion for innovation and fostering healthier communities.

The Fellowships will typically fully or partially finance the candidate’s education in the MPH programme and/ or living expenses. They are not provided in exchange for services provided by the student and may be awarded by the School or by external sources.

Wu Yu Lin Master of Public Health Scholarship

Named in memory of the late Wu Yu Lin and in honour of her father, the late Dr Wu Lien-Teh, the scholarship embodies Dr Wu’s dedication to epidemiology and public health as well as his tireless and heroic efforts in dealing with the Manchurian pneumonic plague of 1910–11, earning him the title “The Plague Fighter”.

Benefits:
– $15,000 towards tuition fees

Requirements:
– Preferably, not exclusively, medically-trained applicants
– Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident

Mr and Mrs Chen Sing Wu Bursary

The bursary, named in honour of the late Mr and Mrs Chen Sing Wu, aims to empower and provide opportunities for future leaders in public health. Mr Chen was an esteemed diplomat, business and community leader, and this bursary is an embodiment of his commitment to make a positive impact in the community.

– Up to full tuition fees with stipends

External Scholarships

Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship

The Lee Kuan Yew (LKY) Scholarship is synonymous with both prestige and a willingness to serve Singapore. Set up in 1991 by the Tanjong Pagar Citizens’ Consultative Committee with funding from the public to commemorate the contributions made by Mr Lee Kuan Yew to Singapore, it marks Singapore’s continuous effort to recognise outstanding individuals with the aptitude and inclination to contribute to our society. Healthcare Graduate Studies Award

This post-graduate scholarship is awarded to individuals who are keen to join the public healthcare sector while demonstrating academic excellence and community spirit. You will work with healthcare professionals providing direct care to patients, policy makers or IT systems professionals to improve the Singapore public healthcare system. Financial Aid

NUS Tuition Fee Loan Scheme

Graduate students who require financing for their tuition fees may apply for a loan under the Tuition Fee Loan (TFL) scheme. For more details, please refer to the information from Office of the University Registrar.

Staff Concession

Students who are full-time NUS staff members may be eligible to apply for staff concession. More information is available on the Staff Portal.
