Digital Health Roundtable on Health Data Sharing for Impact

The Digital Health Roundtable on Health Data Sharing for Impact convened regional policymakers, health-sector leaders, technical experts and global partners for an invitation-only discussion on advancing responsible health data sharing across Southeast Asia.

Held at NUS Medicine + Science Library on 3 July 2026 as a side event to the inaugural Smart Health Asia conference, the Roundtable brought together representatives from Ministries of Health, national health agencies, academic institutions, healthcare organisations, regional networks and global partners from across Southeast Asia and beyond, including Singapore, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand. Building on the 2022 White Paper on Responsible Data Sharing in Health and Healthcare, discussions explored opportunities arising from Singapore’s Health Information Act, the value of health data sharing and data mobility, and pathways towards a more connected regional health data ecosystem.

Participants exchanged case studies and perspectives on how health data sharing can strengthen health services, improve health outcomes and support more effective policy and practice. The programme also included a futures-planning session to build momentum towards a regional framework and platform for continued collaboration.

The roundtable was co-organised by Precision Public Health Asia Society, NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, and Messe Berlin Asia Pacific. We would like to thank the presenters from Ministry of Health, Singapore, TRUST Office, Singapore, BPJS Kesehatan, Indonesia, Ministry of Health, Malaysia, and ACPHEED Secretariat Establishment Office (ACSEO), Thailand for their sharing, and to all participants for their contributions. Special thanks to Dr Clive Tan, Assoc Prof Piya Hanvoravongchai, and the organising teams for bringing this important regional dialogue together.
