Fundamental Field Epidemiology-Class-Photo June-26

We were delighted to welcome over 30 participants from across the healthcare and government sectors to the S-FETP Tier 2: Fundamental Field Epidemiology course, held on 22–24 and 29–30 June 2026.

Led by Associate Professor Steven Ooi and Ms Wendy Sng, Deputy Director (Biorisk and Biosurveillance), Animal and Veterinary Service, National Parks Board, the course equipped participants with practical skills in rapid response, disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, with practice segments and engaging discussions. The course also offered valuable insights into managing public health emergencies and applying systematic approaches to outbreak response in the community.

Participants had an active exchange of ideas throughout the sessions, the course demonstrated how the field of epidemiology plays an important role in protecting public health.
