Overview
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming healthcare but its impact depends on how it’s designed, governed, and applied. This course introduces healthcare professionals to the strategic, ethical, and practical dimensions of AI without requiring technical knowledge. Through real-world examples and hands-on reflection, students will explore how AI can enhance care delivery, improve population health, and influence systems-level change. Key topics include responsible AI, human-centered design, data ethics, policy and regulation, and implementation strategies. Students will gain the critical skills needed to navigate and lead AI initiatives in healthcare settings with confidence, insight, and integrity.

- Critique the Role of AI in Health Systems.
- Evaluate the impact of AI on clinical care, public health, and health equity, identifying both opportunities and unintended consequences across the care continuum.
- Design Human-Centered AI Concepts for Health Challenges.
- Apply service design and systems thinking to conceptualise responsible, user-centric AI solutions that address specific healthcare or population health needs.
- Evaluate AI Governance, Ethics, and Policy Implications.
