As a former NUS undergraduate and staff, I knew that NUS would be one of the best institutions to receive a great education from, especially in the field of public health through SSHSPH. In anticipation of my one-year journey ahead, I began my preparations before the semester started. Now, as the first semester is coming to a close, I realised just how big the realm of public health truly is. I am fortunate to have nurturing professors and tutors, who never fail to answer my burning questions and inspire me to pursue my educational endeavours.
As I learned more about numerous opportunities such as overseas attachments for MPH students, I have become more interested in global health, and I hope to embark on my own overseas learning trip before I graduate.
SSHSPH is a shining beacon in the ever-changing field of public health. The School has provided me with a conducive environment to acquire the skills required to become a public health practitioner in the future.
It is an honour to be awarded the Saw Swee Hock MPH Scholarship and I am grateful for the opportunities that it has provided me. It has given me the advantage to pursue my passion for public health with a much lighter financial burden. And as a result, I can focus better on my studies, research, and co-curricular activities.
