Graduate Research Programmes

Applicants must fulfill the following minimum admission requirements:

1. Academic Qualifications

Master of Science (MSc)

  1. Bachelor’s Degree with good Honours (at least 2nd Upper Class) or its equivalent in a relevant discipline
    OR
  2. MBBS or its equivalent
    OR
  3. Bachelor of Dental Surgery or its equivalent

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

  1. Good Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline
    OR
  2. Bachelor’s Degree with good Honours (at least 2nd Upper Class) or its equivalent in a relevant discipline
    OR
  3. MBBS or its equivalent
    OR
  4. Bachelor of Dental Surgery or its equivalent

2. Standardised Tests

(applicable for both MSc and PhD applicants)

a) English language requirements for International Applicants*

International applicants must submit test scores for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System) and meet the minimum scores required:

  • 94 on the TOEFL test
  • 7.0 on the IELTS Academic test

Test scores for the TOEFL and IELTS are valid for 2 years from the test dates. TOEFL and IELTS Academic scores that have expired by the time the application period closes will not be accepted.

TOEFL/IELTS requirements are waived for applicants whose undergraduate or graduate degrees are from Singapore autonomous universities, and English-medium institutions in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States

b) GRE® General Test

All applicants are strongly encouraged to submit test scores for the GRE® General Test. Evidence of strong quantitative, verbal, and analytical skills through GRE scores, as well as indicators of research skills and experience will significantly strengthen your application.
