In recent years, the global health landscape has been marked by profound uncertainty and transition. Shifting geopolitical dynamics, questions about financing, and the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic have placed the current global health architecture under intense scrutiny. As countries and institutions re-evaluate how global health is governed and financed, this moment presents an unparalleled opportunity to reshape the system for the better: into one that is more equitable, inclusive, and responsive to future challenges.
In response, the Wellcome Trust has launched a global dialogue on health architecture reform, an ambitious initiative comprising regional dialogues across the world, including in the Asia and the Pacific region; Africa; the Middle East and Central Asia; Latin America and the Caribbean; and North America and Europe.
We are proud to share that the Prince Mahidol Award Conference Strategic Institute, in partnership with the International Health Policy Program Foundation in Thailand, the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at the National University of Singapore, and the Vanke School of Public Health at Tsinghua University, is leading the dialogue for Asia and the Pacific. This dialogue will culminate in a regional convening in Singapore on 4–6 November 2025, bringing together diverse voices to chart a bold and inclusive vision for the future of global health.
Why Your Voice Matters
As part of this effort, we are currently conducting an online survey, key informant interviews, and sub-regional workshops to gather perspectives from across the region. We are particularly eager to hear from those working in government, academia, development agencies, civil society, and the private sector. Your input will directly inform the regional dialogue and help shape global health reform priorities from the Asia–Pacific perspective.
How to Engage
We invite interested parties to complete the online survey and to reach out for further information on how to get involved. Please contact the team at wellcome-asia-pacific@nus.edu.sg or PMACSI@ihpp.thaigov.net, or find out more about the initiative from the Wellcome Trust website.Â
