Prof Teo Yik Ying Appointed to High-Level Panel for the Accra Reset Initiative

The School is delighted to share that Prof Teo Yik Ying, Dean of SSHSPH and NUS Vice President (Global Health), has been appointed as one of 18 global health leaders to the high-level panel of the Accra Reset Initiative.

Led by the Government of Ghana and championed by President John Dramani Mahama, the Accra Reset Initiative is an Africa-led effort to reimagine and reform global health architecture and governance. The newly established panel has been tasked with developing concrete and actionable proposals to address longstanding structural inequities in the global health system.

Prof Teo joins a distinguished group of global leaders contributing to this effort, reflecting his continued leadership in advancing data-driven policy, health systems strengthening, and regional collaboration. His appointment also underscores the School’s growing role as a leading academic institution contributing to global health thought leadership and policy discourse.

Drawing on our strong partnerships with governments and institutions across the Asia–Pacific, NUS continues to advocate a global health architecture grounded in mutual respect, trust, and national sovereignty. We remain committed to advancing shared regional and global public goods that protect communities worldwide. I am honoured to be part of this panel and contribute to driving reforms to address vulnerabilities, strengthen resilience, and improve the health and wellbeing of people around the world.”
