1 October 2026 — The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health successfully hosted the inaugural NUS MScHEOR Capstone Community Networking Event, bringing together students, faculty, alumni, and key industry partners for an evening dedicated to dialogue, connection, and applied research.
Bridging Academia and Real-World Healthcare
The evening commenced with opening remarks from Assoc Prof Alec Morton, MScHEOR Programme Director, who highlighted the core vision driving the MScHEOR programme and its Capstone component: connecting academic rigor directly with real-world healthcare challenges to strengthen the broader healthcare ecosystem.
Alongside Asst Prof Kiesha Prem (Academic Coordinator), Karina Lee (Principal Coordinator, Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships), and Mou De Teo (Programme Manager), the programme leadership continues to establish a robust foundation for applied education in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR).

Student Perspectives and Project Showcases
A key feature of the event was a student panel chaired by Asst Prof Kiesha Prem, featuring Wang Juan, Chittawan Poonsiri, and Reginald Lim. The panellists shared their personal reflections, career aspirations, and experiences engaging with the broader HEOR landscape.
Additionally, the event featured an MPH Project Showcase led by Kathleen Nicole Uy and Adena Peh, who demonstrated how academic research can be directly translated into impactful healthcare policy, resource planning, and clinical decision-making.
Deepening Regional Partnerships
The event underscored the strong backing of Capstone project partners representing a diverse cross-section of the sector, including government and public agencies, healthcare organisations, academic medical centres, health technology assessment (HTA) bodies, and industry collaborators.
As the inaugural MScHEOR cohort prepares to begin their Capstone projects, the School looks forward to expanding these valuable collaborations to build a resilient, connected HEOR ecosystem across Singapore and the broader region.
Acknowledgements
The School extends its sincere gratitude to student volunteers Ji Heon Kim, Phornnaphat Chertchinnapa (Dream), Thea Chen, and Claire Lam, whose dedication ensured the event proceeded seamlessly.
Thank you to all students, alumni, faculty, Capstone partners, and distinguished guests who contributed to the success of this inaugural gathering.
