A new Scholarship has been established at the NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health to support deserving students from Southeast Asia who are ready to lead change at a population level.
The Low-Chia Master of Public Health Scholarship, established by two NUS alumni, reflects their core belief that lasting impact stems from robust public health systems and well-designed policies. In their vision, a strong public health framework creates the essential conditions for healthcare innovation and excellence to truly succeed in the long term.
Empowering Regional Change-Makers
With Southeast Asia’s diverse populations and evolving health needs, this scholarship is a strategic investment in human capital. It empowers promising students to gain the skills, networks, and practical training required to design and implement evidence-based solutions such as disease prevention, health promotion, surveillance, and policy evaluation to reach entire communities.
By easing the financial burden for candidates from across the region, the scholarship aims to:
- Widen Access: Ensure that talented individuals can access world-class graduate education regardless of financial background.
- Drive Local Impact: Equip leaders with the tools to return to their home countries and implement life-saving public health strategies.
- Strengthen the Region: Foster a collaborative network of experts dedicated to the well-being of Southeast Asia.
