In-person Student Orientation is back in full force after a two-year hiatus! The School is excited to welcome our new batch of Master of Public Health (MPH) and Graduate Diploma in Applied Epidemiology (GDAE) students to join the SSHSPH family. Is It Time for Health Leaders to Consider Plain Cigarettes?
19 countries have implemented plain tobacco packaging policy, a law that requires tobacco products to be sold in drab-coloured, standardised packs with massive health warnings plastered on them. However, this does not apply to cigarette sticks. Tobacco companies have been using a variety of features to increase the appeal of cigarettes such as added flavours, nicotine, and attractive designs. Dengue is a viral infection spread by mosquitoes. The four dengue serotypes are all endemic in Singapore. In 1968, Singapore initiated its dengue control programme. This control programme includes environmental management, source reduction, public health education, inspection of premises and fines for identification of mosquito breeding sites.
