Kennedy NG
Dr Kennedy Ng is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and Medical Oncologist at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS). He works at the intersection of clinical care, research and health policy. He graduated as valedictorian from the National University of Singapore, topped the Master of Medicine in 2018 and the Medical Oncology Specialist Programme in 2022, and completed a Master of Public Administration at Harvard Kennedy School in 2025 as an Edward S. Mason and John F. Kennedy Fellow.
His overarching research focus asks: “How can we create a health system that provides affordable, high-quality, accessible and equitable healthcare?” To address this, he leverages large-scale health and administrative datasets to generate insights into cancer outcomes, disparities, healthcare utilisation and costs, and to evaluate the impact of health policies and system-level interventions.
A key focus of his work is translating evidence into real-world implementation. He designs and leads pragmatic health-system trials, including the FIT colorectal cancer screening randomized controlled study, which tests scalable interventions to improve screening uptake and reduce disparities, with the aim of embedding effective approaches across the health system.
He also leads population health initiatives across NCCS and Singapore General Hospital, working closely with healthcare institutions, government agencies and community partners on cancer prevention, screening and care delivery.
Beyond healthcare, he founded TriGen, an intergenerational charity that empowers young people to become health advocates and community leaders while supporting older adults to age well in the community. Through TriGen, he seeks to build a culture in which young people see themselves not simply as volunteers, but as active partners in strengthening communities, improving health and shaping a more caring and inclusive society.
