FOONG Pin Sym

Pin Sym has an M.Sc in Human Computer Interaction Design from the School of Informatics at Indiana University and a PhD from the National University of Singapore Graduate School. Her thesis was on using interactive systems to optimize volunteer performance in dementia care. She is an experienced researcher with a demonstrated history of working in human computer interaction research projects, designing user experiences and healthcare innovation development.

Previously, she was a lecturer in human computer interaction, where she has helped her teams of students win several design competitions at an international level. Her work with technology for older adults is supported by her previous experience as an interface developer for multimedia services, and as a mentor to new media startups.
