I believe meaningful change happens when communities have the space, confidence and support to shape the changes they want to see. I am particularly interested in rethinking what community mobilisation and empowerment can look like within systems that are often designed from the top down, and in finding ways to create genuine space for communities to shape those systems from the ground up.

I am a Research Fellow at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, having recently completed my PhD evaluating the Movements for Health (M4H) programme. With a background in Psychology and Public Health, I have spent over five years working in community-based research, exploring health priorities, lived experiences, and the stories that matter to people across different stages of life.

I am interested in how community initiatives can translate people’s strengths, experiences, and ideas into tangible improvements in health, and how we can learn from and evaluate what makes these efforts sustainable. Through SAGE, I hope to contribute my experience in community research and evaluation while learning alongside the communities and partners involved.

My broader research interests include health communication, mixed methods research, implementation science, and the social determinants of health. I am particularly interested in bridging research and practice to support more equitable and sustainable approaches to community health.
