The Centre for Health Intervention and Policy Evaluation Research (HIPER) is dedicated to advancing evidence-informed health policy through rigorous research and strategic partnerships. Established in 2019, HIPER’s mission is to be the leading academic centre conducting high quality health technology assessment (HTA) and programme evaluation that contribute to policymaking locally and regionally. Its multidisciplinary team supports decision-makers in assessing the value, effectiveness, and impact of health interventions and service delivery models across areas such as mental health, chronic kidney disease, antimicrobial resistance, and precision medicine.

Beyond research, HIPER actively builds regional capacity through technical training, short courses, and institutional support in HTA, real-world data analysis, and health economics. The centre works closely with academics, ministries of health, healthcare providers, public health institutions and international collaborators—including the World Health Organization and the REALISE working group—to shape policies that promote equity, efficiency, and sustainability in health systems across Asia. Guided by the ethos “Evidence. Empower. Decisions.”, HIPER plays a pivotal role in strengthening healthcare decisions through robust evidence and applied insights.

The Occupational Health Education & Research Unit (OHERU), of the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, drives education, thought leadership and research in the environmental and occupational health arena. Our mission is to critically evaluate the contemporary issues in health, safety, and well-being of individuals in the workplace.

PHRISM – Population Health Research and Innovation for System Modelling is a research centre based at the National University of Singapore (NUS) School of Public Health, in close collaboration with the National University Health System (NUHS). The centre aims to support the transformation of Singapore’s health system towards proactive, data-driven population health management.

PHRISM develops innovative tools and methods for modelling population health trends, evaluating interventions, and informing strategic planning. Our work integrates epidemiological forecasting, health economic evaluation, systems science, and operations research, with a particular focus on chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and lipid disorders. We are also exploring cutting-edge applications in precision public health, such as genetic risk-based screening strategies.

PHRISM serves as a hub for multidisciplinary collaboration, bringing together academic researchers, health system leaders, and policymakers. We provide decision support for regional health planning, resource optimisation, and policy evaluation at both institutional and national levels.

Our projects are grounded in local data sources, including electronic health records, cohort studies, and administrative datasets, and are aligned with national initiatives such as Healthier SG. Through this work, PHRISM seeks to build a learning health system and contribute to more equitable, effective, and sustainable health outcomes.
