
Professor Chia Kee Seng, Dean of the NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health commenced the session with the introduction of the Leadership Institute of Global Health Transformation (LIGHT), a think tank of the School, which will host the ongoing Public Health Thought Leadership Dialogue and feature some of the School’s prominent alumni collaborating with the School.
Professor Peter Piot then delivered his talk outbreak preparedness and pandemics, touching on ongoing global examples such as dengue outbreak, MERS and Zika virus, ending with his key takeaway on the subject of infectious disease pandemics: “No time to lose”.

The session ended with Prof Chia presenting tokens of appreciation to the moderator and panelists, including a Tintin The Blue Lotus edition bowl and plate set for Prof Peter Piot.
