Giving Stories
Ms Zhang Yujuan Cheryl
My six years’ experience working in acute care hospitals was extremely valuable. With the help of great mentors, I was able to grow professionally and personally. I found my field of interest and developed a strong public service ethos.
Building on what I have gained in my working life, my acceptance into NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) was the first step in a new career direction. Studying in SSHSPH has been challenging, to say the least. The curriculum is extremely rigorous, but has helped me to gain the necessary knowledge and skills in a short span of time. I have also made many valuable friendships with classmates from diverse backgrounds.
I am grateful that the Wu Yu Lin Scholarship has provided me with the opportunity to kick start my journey in public health with a peace of mind. I have been able to immerse myself in my studies to reap as much as possible during this short tenure. I am excited and inspired to contribute substantially to the field of public health in the future.
