TAN Bee Huat, Iain

I am a senior consultant medical oncologist and Director of research at the Division of Medical Oncology at National Cancer Centre Singapore. I am also the platform lead for databases and biobanks at the Singapore Translational Cancer Consortium (STCC) under CRIS,MOH. I take the lead on population health research & innovation at National Cancer Centre Singapore.

We are creating the national cancer dataset based as the cancer data commons within Singapore Translational Cancer Consortium (STCC) in collaboration with the three public healthcare sectors and IHIS. CDC contains the anonymized/de-identified cancer health information of all cancer patients receiving care at the 3 public healthcare clusters for the last 12 years, linked together through iHIS BRAIN. Through this, we will be performing research across the domains of pre-cancer screening survivorship of consideration and effectiveness of current cancer care and end of life care, throughout the continuum of the patient cancer journey. We are particularly interested in the health economics of precision oncology including the use of precision diagnostics to stratify patients into current therapeutics. I have also been fortunate to be involved in the management of COVID as a member of the joint task force, helping with the management of the COVID epidemic in the healthcare dormitories. Cancer research and population health can make an impact in Singapore. Do reach out to me to exchange ideas for possible collaborations.
