SUN Haitong Zhe
Dr Haitong Sun, Principal Investigator of HAITONG Lab (Health Associated Integrated Traverse of Nature and Geoscience), is an Earth and planetary scientist, statistician, and environmental epidemiologist. HAITONG Lab aims to employ interdisciplinary approaches and perspectives to investigate the interactions between changes in the natural and social environments and population health. Dr Sun is particularly dedicated to developing quantitative methodological frameworks, which include, but are not limited to, the parametrisation of atmospheric physicochemical processes, post-simulation data mining of Earth system numerical models, and the establishment of Environmetrics as an independent discipline. Currently, Dr Sun is leading the ZEBRA decadal longitudinal Chinese maternity cohort, which has enrolled nearly 0.2 million participants. By facilitating precise perinatal diagnosis and monitoring, the cohort is employed to explore the feasibility of early clinical vigilance systems to protect women’s health.
