ABDIN, Edimansyah

Dr Abdin is a Principal Biostatistician and researcher at the Research Division, Institute of Mental Health, Singapore. He has led the sampling design and data analysis for major national psychiatric epidemiological surveys, including the Well-being of the Singapore Elderly study and the Singapore Mental Health Study. In close collaboration with the Principal Investigators, he led the data analyses for the development and validation of key mental health instruments, including the Positive Mental Health Instrument, the Case Management Quality of Care Scale, and the iWorkHealth. He is also actively involved in developing mapping algorithms of health utility values for Cost-Utility Analysis.

He recently completed two National Medical Research Council funded research grants including the Health Services Research Grant and Health Services Research-New Investigator Grant to validate disability measures, health preference-based outcome measures and mapping algorithms in schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, and diabetes samples. His current research interests include psychiatric epidemiology and biostatistics, psychometrics, and health-related quality of life. To date, he has authored over 300 articles in the international and local journals.
