Details:

We cordially invite you to the seminar “Transforming Population Health: Realising the Potential of Population Cohorts”, organised by the National Cohorts Office (NCO). NCO advocates for and facilitates competency building among cohorts to enhance the long-term biomedical research ecosystem in Singapore and is hosted at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore.

Population cohorts provide a powerful infrastructure for biomedical research and translation. They are versatile in health outcomes to address a broad range of research questions and can facilitate a deep understanding of the influences of biology, environment, lifestyle, and various social determinants on health and well-being.

The seminar will provide a unique opportunity for attendees to hear from experts as they share their experiences and insights on establishing and maintaining population cohorts, including data quality, participant engagement, and long-term funding. They will discuss the ethical and regulatory considerations to use population cohort data, and the need for transparency and accountability in data sharing.
