Abstract:

The third session of this webinar series explores how community engagement can strengthen dengue prevention and control. Prof. May Oo Lwin will draw on field research in Sri Lanka and Thailand to show how participatory surveillance empowers communities to adopt preventative behaviours and counter dengue. She will also discuss how a One Health perspective can inform future system designs. Dr. Yusma Jeffrin will present on Brunei’s dengue burden and community-based prevention and control programmes, sharing engagement activities that enhance participation in dengue response. The session will be moderated by Prof. Leo Yee-Sin from the Saw Swee Hock School ofPublic Health, NUS.
