Candidates interested in our graduate programmes are advised to apply directly to the University and not through any agents. Candidates who apply through agents will not have any added advantage in gaining admission and the University reserves the right to reject such applications without providing a reason.

Before Application

This Applicant Guide is a reference for applicants who wish to apply to the NUS graduate programmes. As the admission requirements vary from programme to programme, please expect to encounter pages/ sections that may be different from those shown in this guide.
After Application
1. Institutional Mentor Acknowledgement
If your institutional mentor is also serving as one of your referees, please forward the form to them and inform them that they should upload the completed Institutional Mentor Form together with their referee report via the online referee submission portal.
If your institutional mentor is not a referee, please forward the form to your proposed mentor and ask them to complete it and email the signed form directly to SPH_DrPH@nus.edu.sg.
2. Submission of Transcript (for non-NUS degrees only)
- If your degree is from NUS, you do not need to arrange for your official transcript to be sent. Your uploaded transcript will be verified internally by our office.
- If your degree is from a non-NUS institution, you must arrange for your official transcript to be sent directly from your university to the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health.
- Transcripts that are not in English must be accompanied by notarised English translations.
- Use the prescribed Transcript Request Form only.
Your university may send the official transcript using one of the following methods:
- Electronic transcript sent directly to SPH_DrPH@nus.edu.sg from your university’s transcript repository system.
- OpenCerts file sent directly to SPH_HEOR@nus.edu.sg.
- PDF of the electronic transcript sent to SPH_DrPH@nus.edu.sg by an authorised staff member from your university’s academic records office, using an official university email address that is verifiable via the university website.
We also accept the following:
- World Education Services (WES) evaluation reports, sent directly to our school by WES.
- CSSD-verified transcripts sent directly to our school by CSSD (for applicants from China).
Important Information
1. All students must be registered before commencing a course of study at the University.
Successful candidates will receive instructions on when and how to complete online registration in their offer letter.
2. Compulsory Attendance
Successful candidates admitted in Academic Year 2025/2026 are required to attend the following in-person courses:
- SPH6901 Effective Public Health Leadership
- SPH6902 Evidence-Informed Public Health Policy & Decision-Making
These courses will be conducted on campus during the following periods:
- 12 to 17 January 2026
- 27 July to 01 August 2026
Please note that students who do not attend will automatically be deferred to the following year.
3. Pre-Enrolment Medical Examination for Graduate Students
As a condition of admission, all incoming students are required to undergo a medical examination. This may be completed at:
- the NUS University Health Centre (UHC); or
- with the student’s own physician, either in Singapore or in their home country.
Successful candidates will receive information about the pre-admission medical examination in their offer letter.
4. Additional Medical Test for International Students for Application of Student’s Pass
In addition to the NUS pre-admission medical examination, international students are required to undergo an HIV test as part of the Student’s Pass application.
- The HIV test and medical examination may be conducted either in the student’s home country or in Singapore.
- The following documents must be submitted to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) within three months of issue:
- Original HIV laboratory test report
- Chest X-ray report
- Completed ICA Medical Examination Report for Student’s Pass
All medical reports, laboratory test results, and X-ray reports must be completed in English. The Chest X-ray report must include the student’s full name, identification number, and date of birth. Further details will be provided in the offer letter for successful candidates.
