The DrPH programme is designed to prepare experienced professionals for leadership roles in the public health sector. It emphasises the practical application of public health knowledge to address complex challenges, influence policy, and lead impactful initiatives both locally and globally.
Graduates will be equipped to take on senior roles in government, international organisations, academia, and the private sector, where they can contribute to improving population health through evidence-based decision-making.

Faculty Highlights
Prof Teo Yik Ying is an internationally renowned researcher with a focus on the genetics of chronic and infectious diseases in populations of African, European, and Asian descent. He has extensive experience spearheading global health research and activities, and was actively involved in the training and capacity development of researchers from different African and Southeast Asian countries.
He is currently Vice President (Global Health) at the National University of Singapore (NUS), where he leads the University’s charge in shaping health and policy outcomes in Asia in an effective, sustainable, and equitable manner, by harnessing interdisciplinary and translational research, advocacy, and analyses. He is concurrently the Dean for the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at NUS.
Prof Teo is currently a member of the International Organising Committee for the Prince Mahidol Award Conference, and an Executive Committee member for the World Health Summit Academic Alliance. He is also a Governing Board Member of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Regional Centre for Tropical Medicine and Public Health Network, a Co-Director for the Asia Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health’s Collaborating Centre for Health Promotion, and sits on the Global Coalition of Deans for Schools of Public Health.
Dr Ng Yeuk Fan is a senior public health physician and systems leader with over two decades of experience in health systems transformation, strategic leadership, and education.
As Director of Corporate Development at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and Yishun Community Hospital, he has spearheaded large-scale health system redesigns, including using the Unified Care Model and the Health System Transformation Playbook. Dr Ng draws from deep expertise in systemic design, complexity leadership, and value-based care to guide whole-system change. He teaches extensively across national and international platforms, mentoring future leaders in public health, health systems thinking, and integrated care. His pedagogical approach blends strategic foresight, systems seeing, and deep learning frameworks—cultivating leadership capacities to navigate power, justice, and transformational change.
As module coordinator for SPH6901 Effective Public Health Leadership, Dr Ng brings a unique blend of practice-based insights and critical pedagogy to shape reflective, adaptive, and systemically aware public health leaders.
