Asia Centre for Health Security

About Us

The Asia Centre for Health Security (ACHS) is a new academic think tank working towards forestalling and alleviating the impact of biological threats of the future, through collaborative research and capacity development in systems evaluation and strengthening in Asia.

Based at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at the National University of Singapore (NUS), the centre operates in close partnership with the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies at Nanyang Technological University.

The centre is funded through philanthropic contributions from individuals and organisations.

Expertise and Services

ACHS seeks to:

  1. Conduct systems evaluation and strengthening research in health security and global catastrophic biological threats,
  2. Organise education and training programmes which include table-top simulation exercises, global health security law, pandemic response, biosecurity training and fellowships for future health security leaders in Asia,
  3. Capacity development at both the regional and country levels, and
  4. Convening of regional and international academic and governmental leaders for the purposes of disseminating research output, priority setting, establishing policy recommendations, and for further collaborative work and partnership.
