Chew Feng Yi

Chew Feng Yi is currently pursuing a PhD in Communication at the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania. She received her B.A. and M.A. in Political Science at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. She also served as a commissioned officer in the Singapore Armed Forces before obtaining a master’s degree in public health from Harvard University. While working at the Ministry of Health in Singapore, Feng Yi led and developed policies focused on infectious disease prevention and response plans, particularly related to vaccination strategies.

Feng Yi’s interests revolve around translational research, specifically in formulating evidence-based recommendations that can shape policy and communication initiatives to improve public health outcomes. Broadly, her research focuses on how values, attitudes, and preferences are developed and changed over time and how these factors interact with public health messaging.
