TAN Shermin

Trained in public health and palliative care, Shermin has wide-ranging experience in clinical care, policy-making and programme implementation. She has worked in various settings including the Ministry of Health (MOH) and restructured hospitals in Singapore, in infectious disease outbreak management, national emergency preparedness, health promotion, primary and community care, manpower standards and development, as well as palliative care strategy and service development.

Since 2020, Shermin has been a based in Nepal as a medical volunteer with the International Nepal Fellowship (INF), Nepal. INF is a non-governmental organization serving the poor and marginalized in Nepal through health services and community development work. Shermin was involved in the setting up of INF’s integrated palliative care centre, the first of its kind in Nepal. She currently heads the Research and Quality Improvement Department at INF, a department that she has set up to drive research development and quality improvement across all of INF’s health services and community development programmes.

Shermin is a certified life coach, and trained Motivational Interviewer. She is also an artist and musician, and enjoys new cross-cultural experiences.
