Gift Towards the Microbiota Vault Initiative by At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy

NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health has received a generous gift of $50,000 from At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy. It will be channelled towards the collection of microbiome samples from rural populations in Southeast Asia into the Microbiota Vault.

Microbiota Vault is a global non-profit initiative to conserve long-term health for humanity, supporting equitable and inclusive approaches to microbiome research and preservation. The gift will contribute to logistics around data and sample collection as well as engagement of local communities in Southeast Asia to participate in the initiative.

The gift was presented to Professor Teo Yik Ying, Dean of NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, by Dr Kwan Lui, founder of At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy. At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy is an EduTrust-certified institution that cultivates global chefs and F&B professionals.

The School greatly appreciates the generous gift and continued support towards the Microbiota Vault initiative.
