There is so much inequity to access to health despite much progress in the world.  What will it take to inspire society to create solidarity and for governments to establish effective mechanisms to achieve better health outcomes?”  This has been my personal goal, a balancing act in the nexus of government, civil society and the business sector.  Sharing knowledge and building human capital through education is a passion. My interests are in the areas creating better systems in health.

Kenneth Hartigan-Go is a senior fellow of Ateneo Policy Center, School of Government, an adjunct faculty of the Asian Institute of Management.  He served as Director General of the Food and Drugs Administration Philippines and later as an Undersecretary of the Philippine Department of Health.  He was the founding executive director of the Zuellig Foundation.  Previously taught at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine.  He trained in Internal Medicine and Clinical Toxicology at the Philippine General Hospital.  He served as past president of the Philippine College of Physician.

• Career span from being an internist and a faculty of medicine teaching Pharmacology and Toxicology. While at the College of Medicine, headed a Department of Health Philippines project leading to the creation of the Adverse Drug Reactions Monitoring Program which was integrated into the FDA.  He was seconded to the DOH Philippines as a Deputy Director of the Bureau of Food and Drugs briefly for 2 years.  He then joined the Zuellig Foundation as the founding Executive Director charged with improving health outcomes in partnership with government.  He taught briefly at the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health concurrently.  Later, he was invited to join the Asian Institute of Management to teach in Development Management.  He rejoined the Food and Drugs Administration as Director General instituting regulatory system reforms and later promoted to Undersecretary of Health.  After this stint, he rejoined AIM and headed the pioneering program on Executive Masters in Disaster Risks and Crisis Management.  In January 2021, he was appointed Senior Research Fellow of the Ateneo Policy Center School of Government.
