For the past 15 years, the President’s Science & Technology Awards (PSTA) has recognised the country’s top research scientists and engineers in Singapore.

In anticipation of this year’s Awards on 20 Oct, The Straits Times is taking a look at the past recipients who have made exceptional contributions in pushing the boundaries of the science and technology landscape in Singapore. Amongst them is Professor Saw Seang Mei whose team was awarded the President’s Science Award in 2019.

Professor Saw, along with three researchers from the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI), received recognition for their groundbreaking contributions to myopia research, as they endeavor to reduce Singapore’s status as the myopia capital of the world.
