05 Aug 2013

A research team led by Assoc Prof Teo Yik Ying has completed the Singapore Sequencing Malay Project (SSMP), which aims to complement existing studies into human population genetics. The study will survey 100 healthy Singapore Malays and provide a detailed insight into the genetic architecture of the Malay population in Singapore, and when combined with similar studies of Singapore Chinese and Singapore Indians, will lend a deeper understanding to public health information of the Singapore population as a whole.
