"People respond to incentives. The rest is commentary"

My academic interests bleed into my practice areas in consulting and advisory work and vice versa. Much of economics is fundamentally targeted at allocating scarce resources, be these money, manpower, space, time etc. Another key focus of economics is in designing incentive frameworks to achieve the 'win-win-win' outcomes, in which patients and populations, providers and physicians, policy makers and payers all benefit.

The tools and frameworks from economics, systems thinking, design methods are applicable to many spheres of public health and help us to conduct research which is pragmatic and more easily applied. Negotiation techniques and implementation sciences are also important and the well-rounded, holistic public health professional will have to achieve sufficient experience and expertise in multiple disciplines.
